Taiwanese women have been influenced by practices such as foot-binding and various misconceptions for many years. It was not until the success of the foot-binding movement in the 1910s and the popularization of women's education that the relationship between women and sports began to intersect. Since then, Taiwanese female athletes have never been absent from international competitions and have shown remarkable performances. In our country's Olympic history, female athletes have won a total of 14 medals out of the 24, accounting for about 60% of the total. In the Paralympics, female athletes have also won 10 medals out of the 24.
