This societal and cultural norm subjected Taiwanese women to customary constraints, leading to their subjugation or belittlement in significant life events such as marriage and childbirth. However, as time progresses, traditional notions and customs that once ignored women's rightful entitlements have been significantly transformed in Taiwan.
