Exhibition Information:

In the year 2015, the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of the "Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action" at the Fourth World Conference on Women took place. The United Nations has set a substantial equality goal of "50-50" for gender equality development by the year 2030. This exhibition focuses on various aspects of gender statistics, including population and family, health, education, employment, power and decision-making, violence against women, and the environment.

Through these perspectives, the exhibition presents gender-based statistical data, showcasing the differing situations between women and men in various policy domains in our country, and comparing them internationally. The aim is to deepen the understanding and discussion among professionals in different fields about gender disparities and needs. This exhibition also serves as a foundation for outlining future goals and strategies to achieve gender equality.

  • Population and Family

Currently, globally, there are around 62 million more males than females. However, in terms of the elderly and single populations, females outnumber males.

  • Employment

Gender segregation in the workforce remains widespread. In service sectors such as education, healthcare, social work, and domestic work, females continue to constitute the primary labor force.

  • Health

The average life expectancy of females is higher than that of males worldwide. Different stages of life present varying health needs and disease risks for females and males.

  • Environment

Gender roles and norms impact mortality during disasters, with the specific effects varying based on the type of disaster.

  • Power and Decision-Making

The influence of women in politics and national governance is steadily growing, though the rate of progress is still not sufficient.

  • Violence Against Women

Women across different classes, ages, and education levels continue to face threats of physical, psychological, economic, or sexual violence. Intimate partner violence is the most commonly experienced form of violence.

  • Education

Higher education enrollment rates for both males and females have significantly increased globally. However, there remains an insufficient number of females attaining advanced degrees.
