SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCE
Taiwan announced the Taiwan Sustainable Development Goals in 2019, and several major cities have adopted policies based on the SDGs. As a highly industrialized country, Taiwan enjoys benefits from economic growth but suffers heavily from natural disasters arising from climate change. The extreme weather hits everyone, but the disenfranchised and disadvantaged suffer more.
Resilience can only be built through recognizing differences and providing practical strategies. We are all in this together. But if we overlook the gender factor in climate justice issues, inequality will worsen and sustainability will not be achieved.
