2000s
Established in March 2008, Taiwan Women’s Center is the first center designed specifically for women across Taiwan. It is expected, under the gender mainstreaming policy guidance, to integrate non-governmental participation, to bridge women’s organizations in Taiwan, and to be the national image center of Taiwan women’s rights and gender equality. |
In 2007, the Taiwan President signed and ratified CEDAW, exemplifying Taiwan’s proactive stance at observing the UN conventions on safeguarding the human rights of women. |
2005 |
The government adopted gender mainstreaming policies in 2005
and continued to promote gender mainstreaming through various
projects.
