In the mid-1980s, Taiwan's industrial structure gradually transformed from manufacturing to services. A large number of women entered the industries of culture and education, finance and insurance, accommodation and food, health and social welfare. At the same time, provisions that forbade single women to get married and pregnant were common in the workplace until the staffs of National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall petitioned for abolishing the forced regulations. |
